About Him

Ven Swaminathan is the President of DrMachines and CNC OneStop, and a hands-on CNC controls expert with nearly four decades in the field, starting in 1987. He holds a Master's degree from Wright State University and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal for his work advancing CNC diagnostics and support. Ven leads with the same instinct he had as a young engineer: when a technician calls with a fault code, it's someone else's bad day and his job is to end it. That belief shaped the company's guiding philosophy — We listen with an intent to understand, and not with the intent to reply; give every customer the right to reach the next person; put relationship over ego. Ven is proof that deep technical expertise and genuine care for the customer aren't a tradeoff; they're the same thing. Ven still personally troubleshoots fault codes today not as a figurehead, but as an engineer who believes every technician deserves the right fix, not a generic guide. That philosophy — We are your pilots. You sit down and enjoy the coffee; we'll handle the turbulence" is the standard he holds himself and DrMachines to, every single day, one machine at a time. It's not a mission statement written by a marketing team.

Listen To Understand
“We listen with an intent to understand, and not with the intent to reply.”
Your Right To Reach The Next Person
“You have the right to reach the supervisor. No staff will give a reason why you cannot. You can reach me anytime, and I guarantee I will do everything to address your concern — no matter the dollar value.”
Relationship Over Ego
“We want to improve every day.Even if it is not our mistake, we apologize. Your relationship is more important than our ego.”
We'll Be The Change We Want To See
“Yes, we will act the best to see what we want to experience.”
Address Customer Challenge
“We are not here to sell our solution to you.We are not here to modify our products and force feed it to you at your cost..We want to be in your shoes and listen to your challenge and see how we can help.If that solution includes we need to send you else where for that solution, so be it.”
We Try Our Best
“We may not have all the solutions, but you will be glad to know we tried our best.We stand by one customer at a time. Quality is more important than quantity.”
Our Responsibility to CNC and Upcoming Technologies
“We realize we are the first generation of CNC and control engineers. It is our job to pass the knowledge to the next generation of controls engineers. Towards that cause, we help any company who cannot fix a machine, who cannot fix a process, the new students who cannot afford parts for their school project and any college any who reaches out to us. Not all is about money and we understand there is a higher purpose.”

"Saved us 6 hours on an SVM fault last Tuesday. The flowchart walked our apprentice through a fault I would have taken a day to diagnose. Worth every penny."

"The Siemens 840D module can't come soon enough. What's there for Fanuc is exceptional. Called David once at 11pm about an Alpha PSM fault — he picked up."

7 years of intermittent alarms nobody could solve. Both the OEM and Fanuc had been out and couldn't figure it out. Mechanical checks found the real problem was load inertia — one simple adjustment fixed the machine for good.

Aero Coatings · Texas

Years of intermittent accuracy issues. Our mechanics learned how to test axis parallelism one step at a time — the machine was fully diagnosed in an hour with the Expert's help.

Maztech · Texas

Fanuc and the OEM couldn't figure out why B2 axis alignment kept pushing the B axis away. One error code gave the answer — the solution was in understanding the problem, not chasing parts.

Metcut · Ohio

Non-round grinding all comes down to tuning the C-axis. Once the process was explained step by step, the solution was easy.
